i went to minispares in oldbury on saturday to get some bits, the first guy that i spoke to didnt have a clue, i asked for some "manifold locating rings" and his answer was "what are they for"........i thought he was having a laugh.......the place isnt even called minispares anymore and trying to get through to them on the phone is a complete joke!!!

not used them for a while (because the minis being behaving), will be very soon though so i'll look out for it.
they've only ever been better than brilliant.

yeah, i've used minits for most of the bits that i've needed for the engine build.

I hardly use them now as they never seem to have the parts i need in stock. I've always used minits and never had problems with them.

yeah, i had that problem, i went in for 5 items and they only had 1 of them in stock!!.........bloody useless.

It may be because they're having a re-furb, last time I went I got served in the Jaguar department, so maybe you just got a guy who only knew about Jaguars! P,s. The buildings livery is stating it as David Manners, and I think Minispares is just run from a department within the building, as they have departments for Morris 1000, Jaguar, and Triumph spares.

I normally think they are really good but I have also noticed of late they seem to be a bit off their game. They advertised the new articulated bonnet hinges on their website and they have never been stocked!!! I have asked when they would be and its we'll call you when they are or when we know something more. That happened a few times over what has now been over a month. They don't ring me back or anything however I rang last week and by chance a manager picked up my call and I told him the low down of my predicament and he was very apologetic and he was taking my order upon himself to sort. He sent me an email after talking to him and even rang me saying he was chasing it all up for me and that the delivery for the product at the main depot tomorrow and so he is going to call them to make sure it is in stock to be shipped and then he will call me. The guy seems to be a legend :)

We spend thousands in there and would never go anywhere else, talk to Dave or John and they will go out of their way to help you. Some of the guys there are Jag, Morris or even Mazda specialists so you do need to talk to the right people.

It's a franchise there and even they struggle to get bits from Minispares sometimes!

I'm sue they do go out of their way to help you if you spend thousands in there!!

Anything less would not be acceptable - They wont set you up with a trade account though will they?

I used them for about 1ks worth of bits but most if it was utter rubbish or not what I asked for, and I have found mini sport and minits to be great and hassle free

I use them and i think up till now they have been ok but as you say since the refurb its gone downhill.

I went in around easter and found it a great place, despite having to go into the jag bit the guy new what he was doing

Near enough, but where you used to have 3 people serving on mini parts. you probably only get 3 between mini jag triumph and mg.
If your lucky to get john to serve you he will go out his way to assist you.
