My carpets in the front of my mini are quite wet due to all the rain etc, what would be the best way to go about drying them out? :D

Definitely take them out first, then as above, washing line or I used to leave mine draped over the fence if they got too wet.

I had the same problem yesterday.

What I did was use my dads industrial vacuum cleaner with no bag. Then sucked out all of the water from the carpets and underneath the carpets, left them a bit damp but by this morning they was pretty much dry.

Maybe you could use a carpet cleaner and use the function that sucks water out the carpet.

I would use an aqua hover or vax machine to get the worst out then get some sort of heater or dehumidifier in their other than that let it dry out naturally but it could end up smelling like a damp dog 😖

Ideally you need to take them and the soundproofing/underlay beneath out as well and air dry them (in my experience the soundproofing is made of a foam sponge material and actually holds more water than the carpets do). If you try and dry them whilst still in the car, the chances are that just the carpets will dry initially, leaving the soundproofing beneath to stay wet for some time, causing rather unpleasant smells and eventually rusting your floor pans away too! :o

Taking the carpets out is fairly straight forward though, although it can be a bit tricky getting the front set out from behind the back of the heater without ripping them, unless you unhook the heater from its mounting bracket at the back first. Refitting the fronts is even more tricky with the heater still in situ though, oh and if you have a centre console then obviously that will have to come out too!! :(

over a fence (as said above)

If you have a water leak - leave the carpets out till its fixed

other wise Crusty Rusty will pay a visit , sadly
