With high quality natural fibre carpets yes (deep pile wool/cotton blend carpets etc), but I think we are probably talking about Austin/Rover's nylon nasties here, so I don't think that's really going to be much of an issue!!

Take them out, leave mini in the garage with dehumidifier on full for a couple of days with the doors open. Last thing you want is damp getting to the loom and the inside panels

Met experts say it won't stop raining til 2019 and water companies that there'll still be a drought...
On a serious note, I went out for an evening drive yesterday and found this in the middle of the road


of course I had to do it...

and yes, took front carpet off and had it on the washing line the whole day!!
