Don't waste your money on new boxes... Old mechanics always sell off their old tool boxes and tools when they retire, and often have very high quality stuff.

It might not say "snap-on" on the box, but if the draws pull smoothly, hold weight, and are durable, than who gives a damn? I have different feelings about tools though; All my hand tools are craftsman (good quality + lifetime warranty + reasonably cheap prices on used stuff is too hard to pass up), and all of my measurement devices (calipers etc) are any high quality engineers measuring devices I can get my paws on.

daddy... I'm ocd about my tools being organized too. nothing is strewn about or "thrown in." just get some thick foam and cut out the shapes of your tools. completely custom, albeit a little time consuming, and holds your tools perfectly.

Also, 'old boxes' doesn't necessarily mean worn out rusty boxes that your grandfather has sitting in his moist basement. they just might be scuffed a little, or need a wipe down.

yeah well its not new haha like im gonna blow that much XD Its got the odd scuff but its going to be in a workshop so a few little scratches are to be expected.

And foam looks like a good idea but looks like a lot of time wasted. pluss buying a new tool every week would mean buying new foam every weeks haha
