[Mini-Dave]

Hey, my car << (avator) is blue

the boot, bonet, and doors all need respraying.

now as this is 40% of the car, should i just respray the whole thing you think ???

i was thinking black, with white roof and arches, i know this has been doine loads, but ive never done it before

anyone got a pic of there mini which is black and white ??

and what other colours could i add, like what colour should i spray my dash. what coloud seats, ect

well i will be spraying it my self, cost isnt much of a problem, im not rushing doing this (its not my everyday car )

One thing that many underestimate is the work that goes into re-spraying a car.
90% of the work is in the preperation.

But if you take your time you will get a great result.

Have a look around, personally I love old english white with sportspack arches, I just think it looks great.

Also if this is your first time painting white is a very forgiving colour to paint, highly reflective colours require
more percise preperation as darker colours reflect light more and you see little dimples etc easier.

Black is the most difficult to paint as it will show every little imperfection in the reflections in the paint.

That's some of the best advice I've read in years.....

My body is aching from the amount of prep work invloved in spraying a car. Ok, we've done a complete bare metal rebuild. But it's the second mini (van and estate) we've restored in a year!

People REALLY don't understamd the importance of good prep work! Taking the time to get it right now, will save you so much work in the future!

I REALLY do understand the preperation going into spraying a car, for the past 9 months ive been helping my uncle totally restore a mk1 cooper, his past restorations, have sold for 10grand + ive never done so much rubbing down in my life! :'(

I know black does show up every single imperfection, but in a way thats good, i want to get my bodywork perfect, (its nearly is)

Ive seen a pic of a Black min with white roof and arches with bonnet strips, and it looks soooo nice, i think im gunna go with that. dunno about wheels tho ? atm ive got some mambas that are ready for spraying, should i do em black and silver edge, or totally white ?

when i got my car sprayed we spent ages preparing it still got some little imperfection on it tho :'( :'( was cheap
