Might look into an old shell that's been done already, that way I can refurbish my good parts as I swap them over. How would that tand with log book etc?

Soda blasting is worth looking at as well, although it might have trouble with really heavy rust. Won't heat up the panels and all you need for clean up is vinegar water.

Currently watching a shell on eBay, same year as mine but with no log book, is that an issue?

I'd be curious as to why there was no log book that's for sure. It doesn't necessarily mean its stolen, but I would be asking why no log book. The theft and subsequent sale of mini parts on the internet is quite easy.

Just out of interest, do you have a link at all?

I'm not trying to fuel the theft f minis at all, I may be a little niave so excuse the ignorance.

I wasn't entirely sure of all the legalities, however having read a very helpful post on TMF it seems this may not be the fit option for the reasons stated above.

Of course I'm not advocating the theft or 'ringing' of minis, I just wasn't sure of the facts. Sorry of anyone has been offended.

Nah I don't think anyone has been offended. Its better to ask than to to jump in and do it.

And like I say, its not necessarily stolen at all. The ad doesn't say it doesn't have a V5, so I would ask him. He may just have forgotten to write that bit up.
