By definition a pro is someone who gets paid for what they do, so an amateur becomes a pro when he gets sponsored :)


just to be sure i thought there was a difference between being sponsored and getting paid. for example i know plenty of people that sail and are sponsored but it is in fact their hobby not job, i believe sponsorship is generally components or is sponsorship money given out and you just spend it on what is needed.

Well you are getting money tools and components for doing stunts with the companys name on your bike, ect I think that could be the equivalent of getting paid in my opinion :)
