Is the head warped? Did you get it refaced when it first overheated?

Have you changed the water pump? Pretty standard course when you change the headgasket from an overheat I would have thought.

Is water circulating round the radiator- do the hoses get warm as the engine reaches normal temp when it first warms up?
If it only overheats when stationary is the rad fan cutting in properly ? Try shorting the fan thermostat wires to bring fan on constantly -think its on the end of the radiator with 2 spade terminals

the fan operates fine just keeps boiling over lots bubbles and water pump is working fine, very confusing as its been flushed 3 times no change even if i keep the fan on i think will overheat :(

is the block deck flat ? - in good condition ?

& what type of headgasket ?

& it may seem an obvious question - was the helicoil a bit below the block surface

(only takes a small bit to be proud of the surface)

Is the thermostat in the correct place - should be between the heater outlet plate and the top hose outlet.
If its directly on the head you wont get any circulation untill it overheats as the heater pipes act as a bypass hose on the Allegro as far as I recall.
