When i had my 1380 engine with a 296SP camshaft i was running the standard 1275 head and it was easy to drive. Now put that 296SP into a 998cc and thats when it became a little hard to drive, for me that is :)

Evan.

Beej, was that 74 at the fly?

I'd like to build a 1293 with
36 and 30mm valves and well ported,
1.5 rockers
Balanced bottom end
Twin hs2s (or maybe hs4s?)
An sw5 cam or maybe 266
Maybe a slightly lightened flywheel

Any rough ideas on what that will give?

from what I've read on here I'd say atleast 80; compared with the engine beej123 RR'd which got 74 having a better head would probably get you to 80

My specs are
1293

Stage 3 head
Twin hs2s
Rc40 & lcb
Megajolt
266md

Sweet :D I thought it would be about that. I want a nice, useable, quick car.

*I forgot to say about 10:1 comp ratio and I'll be using a maniflow system or an rc40 with a maniflow manifold

If your looking to save money you'd be fine to use a HIF44 they're supposed to be good to about 95bhp.

kent 266 and 276 cams are getting difficult to find secondhand as they are the preferred choice of cam for road use, i was lucky with my 266 as it was a chance find, they do crop up from time to time....i know someone who has a complete brand new 276 cam kit but that will be mine when he comes to sell it as his project isn't happening anymore.
