Finaly got my head off, first time i've ever done such a thing only to discover the 8 rods pocking out.
How do I remove the rods to get the head skimmed?
Any other tips before I get it skimmed?

Am I right in thinking new head studs need to be finger tight?

Copper face to the head and studs finger tight. They'bbe torqued by the cylinder head nuts.

Now I have every thing back to gether and the car running, it seems to be running a little hot. The temp gage reads ok but the expansion tank is making bubbling noises and starting to hiss as well.
I have new hoses a new radiator and new thermostat.

Any ideas why tis could be? :ohno:

It could just be some air lock in the system

No don't think there is. Get the engine warm and very very careful loosen the expansion cap a little bit. As you do this you should start to hear any air start to hiss out......do not simply undo the cap or you'll end up burning yourself if the water is hot
