That could be the case, bits missing, but I thought that the problem was that the arm seemed to be jammed, although now it seems to be movable. Either way, it seems to be at the point where it has to come apart.

By the way, no need to lift the engine again, just undo the mount, jack it up at the clutch end, and take the cover off in situ. It is an awkward job, one bolt in particular, but overall very much quicker, unless you like lifting engines needlessly.

well I'm going to have to tackle it anyway quite vital, yeah i have a feeling that something has failed or I've forgot something. Do anyone know the exact order all the way from the centre bolt all the way back to the side of the engine like a line up?

yeah that was my idea :) don't fancy taking this engine out again.

There is masses of movement between the plunger and the release bearing when I too the front housing of the one that the bearing is on it was wobbly as anthything is that my answer well the actual bearing is fine I've looked over it is just where the plunger goes into the bearing it's not very tight. I can spin it about 15-20 degreese on the plunger.

I am not sure that the rotation matters. If you look here http://www.somerford...age=page&id=143 are all the parts (54, 55 and 56) present and correct? I think someone was suggesting that 54, the top hat, might be missing.
