With the Yokohama' just general grip - pulling away in a straight line; breaking in the wet; accelerating while cornering in the wet; and just general instability when accelerating in a straight line.
As an example - if I pulled out to overtake someone with the Yoko's on, the car would snatch badly as it crossed the white lines, then while overtaking any slight ripple/line/roughness in the road would literally drag the car, meaning I was constantly having to fight the steering. It's been like this ever since I put it back on the road a few years back (when I put the new Yoko's on, along with all new suspension), and since I've tried changing bushes between rubber and poly; different geometry settings; fixed slight play in radius arms; etc. and nothing has really helped.
If I do exactly the same thing with the Pirelli's (bear in mind I haven't changed ANYTHING else) it is incredibly stable - drives in a straight line, no pulling, very little tramlining and good all round grip! I would not even consider buying Yoko's again now. But, looks like Pirelli's are not available anymore.
Anyone tried any of these in 175/50/13?
Fulda
Kuhmo
Continental
Dunlop (SP2000, not the good old 9000)
Nankang
Maxis

27 front, 26 rear.
Did try running the Yoko's less than that but they seemed to tramline even worse. They actualy seemed better at 33 front, 28 rear in the dry, but had even less grip in the wet.
