Hello Again all -

Just took out both driveshafts (converting from drums to discs) and cleaned up the inner pots and noticed that the right hand side ones have a ridge towards the rear inside whereas the left hand one is smooth all the way to that back - Could this cause any problems ?

No, they are perfectly ok. Different manufacturers made them differently, but with the key dimensions the same, so they would interchange as complete joints, without any problem.

Don't try to mix internal parts. This has come up on the forum a few times, and basically they don't fit, because some are reconditioned pots, reground, with oversize inners and cages, or just from a different manufacturer. Never swap used parts that have been running together anyway, the contact faces wear to fit each other accurately, and if you swap them about, excessive wear occurs.
