Keep in mind that everything in between your own personal equipment (Provided by your Service Provider) and the Telephone Exchange is network that is always provided and repaired by Openreach.

Doesn't really matter who you go with. The quality of your line end to end will be the same wether it be Sky, BT or TalkTalk etc... Good choice is always whoever provides the best customer service and will communicate the best when your not happy.

Of course it matters who you go with. Just because the same equipment is used doesn't mean the service provided is the same. It won't affect your line speed if you're too far from the exchange but it will affect the service you receive.

Sky are a great ISP. Their Unlimited Broadband is just that, Unlimited. Unlike BT's "Unlimited" Broadband which actually means "100GB and then we make your internet so painfully slow you'd rather jump up an down on a bed of nails than attempt to surf the web.".

Go with Sky, you won't be let down.

Were with sky too and its great. Not had any problems at all really. Only thing I would say is the ports and NAT settings for xbox live aren't great and hard to change, but that may be the same with all modern modems.

Just avoid Talk Talk and you should be ok. Worse decision my mum made was to swap. Thought she would save some money.... What an utterly crap useless service. My mate has the same problems. Slow. Always needing to reset the router.

My sister has Sky and I never have any problems there (although have had to reset router once or twice in about 3 years)

I've been with Sky, AOL and BT (being current). BT is totaly and utterly useless, Sky was ok but not great and AOL was perfect never had an issue for the 7 years we where with them.

For me AOL was turned off completely for at least 12 hours every other weekend. Without warning and when you rang them up, they just said it was maintenance in the area and offered no apology or money back for the time you'd spend on the phone waiting either.

sky are pretty decent, but you cant change the router which is a pain - although they have now got N routers for better signal which is an improvment.
Virgin can give good speeds - but generally have a lot of issues with cocnsistency.
