R65 gearbox has nice closish ratios, but the pg1 is stronger, plus im pretty sure the gearbox on the 160vvc's also had lsd's.

The box off the 160 has close ratios but no LSD as standard :goaway: . The 1.8vvc out of a TF or a BRM Rover has LSD's i believe as standard. Although i saw someone selling gen rover LSD's for the pg1 box for about £150 the other week

Probably in a lard arsed rover, mini is half weight. Drive shafts are probably bent or broken but you haven't changed the gearbox is the point

nope havent changed the gearbox due to the r65 being inferior and not coping with the power :whistling:

nip over to the MG forum and tell them your looking at putting an r65 gearbox on a 1.8vvc, then when they all stop laughing, you might get a detailed answer about why its not a good idea ;D
