I love it! It's like a collection of where you've been! Kind of like the stamps in a passport!

The Cooper D is claimed up to 80mpg but I have heard over 50mpg from real people under mixed driving and high 60's on the motorway.

I guess that probably means it will do higher than that around town. (edit: to clarify I meant higher than mid 20's)

As for the petrol models... I am not sure

my girlfried has a 55 plate cooper 1.6 petrol with the cooper s wheels. driving normal/econaomically on long runs 40 mpg is what we get.

however if i come the back way home to avoid traffic and really give it some its about 29 mpg.

It really isnt very good on fuel!

However it does have a charm about it, and really is fun to drive, handles well and is fairly nippy!

I would have a clubman if I could afford one, but for now i have my estate for weekends, and my 1988 BSA sport to cycle to work on :)

think when i get over the age of 21 and save up a fair few pennies i may consider a cooper S in the future! my dad had one for a short while before getting rid of it due to "THE BOOTS TOO SMALL I CANT GET A ROTTWEILER IN THERE" haha, loved that supercharged whine.

dont know if this has been said as i havent read this entire thread.

im fairly certain the only difference between a mini one and a cooper, is a slightly different ecu map.

get a one and chip it and youll have a cheap cooper.

A lot of poeple buy a classic mini then decide to start copying other classic mini owners saying that bmw minis are gay. I bet most people like them until they buy a classic mini then just try and fitt in with people on forums by hating the BMW lol!! Everone knows deep down they are a nice looking car, even if not a real MINI! :proud:

Mine does about 25mpg around town, it would probably do more if I didn't try to beat everything away from the lights though

I've test driven a BRS 272BHP S back in 2004 whilst over in the UK was superb but it came with a £30,000 price tag....... >_<
