Can you run 10 x 6 wheels on drums, under standard arches?

without the wheel rubbing on the inner arch and without exceeding the exterior arch???

if not - what is the largest width wheel you can run under standard arches without body mods???

Thanks for your help

yes you can! but then again, it'll depend on what the wheels offset is!

Chill out a bit, Tom!

I would say generally, no. You would need some arches with 6J rims and 165 tyres.

Like said above, it depends what type of 10x6 wheel you are fitting as to what arches you need.

Offset is:

This determines the distance between the centre of the rim surface and the face of the wheel where it is bolted to the hub. Not only does this measurement affect how much of the wheel sticks out, but also the suspension and stresses applied to bearings. It is possible to alter the offset of a wheel by the use of spacers, however, this is only useful for a wheel which has too much +ve offset.

6x10 mini lights and drums all round GP 2 arches :w00t:

wider wheels will fit on drum braked minis with out big arches because drums give a narrower track
disk braked minis track is about 2 inches wider than a drum braked mini

I think if anyone replies they need to fully explain there answer. TMF has had a lot of short answers lately that either haven't helped, or worse, have been more of a hinderence! (Sorry, not talking to you directly there TJenkos!).

This FAQ will tell you all about the different wheel dimensions, including the offset.

Generally, any mini wheel will fit over drum brakes. And I believe that every common design, upto a 6" width will not rub on the body. Whether they stick out from the wing or standard arch will depend on the offset as has been said. :w00t:
