hey guys. if i made a homemade spray booth at home out of pvc pipe and plastic sheeting and put a box fan on it and built a smaller box to go behind it to catch all the crap that the fan pullrd through would this be adequate for spraying 2k at home? i dont want to do it if the 2k is going to escape and go everywhere. also what would be the best fan to use and also would it need a filter on it? and advice would be great.
cheers

do you have a garage or shed? if you do, get a car radiator twin fan.(electric one out a 1994 passat or similar)cut the required sixze hole in your shed wall, fit the fans in and wire the fans upto a car battery with a battery charger plugged in to the mains. works a treat.

no i havnt got a garage. i was going to use pvc so i can take it down after use. what sort of paint did you use. i've looked about and you can get decent finishes from other paint types but they dont seem to stand the test of time and be prone to chipping and stuff so i think if i was going to do it it would have to be 2k but i need proper protection and filtration in the booth as i dont want to kill myself or others.

I was just an old fan that we used to extract the fumes out of the "booth"

think you posted on one of my other threads about using celly. got really good results if i remember correctly. i was tempted by celly to start with but having read a fair bit about all the different types of paint i'm starting to change my mind lol. guess its a matter of opinion.

Yeah that's right, modern paints have good UV protection from the sun by using a special lacquer but with celly I am using a wax which also helps protect from the sun too :)
