I've got an MG cam lying around, and it's kind of gathered some surface rust... Is it okay to still use it in an engine rebuild? The lobes are almost all fairly smooth, and aside from the slight surface rust it seems pretty mint... What's best to remove the rust with on the journals? Also is there anything that needs to be done to the lobes to erm, 'improve' them seeing as its not brand new?
Cheers, would really like to use an MG cam and not in the mood to go around searching for one again, it's not the easiest task round here!
Condition and useability of a cam?

BEST TO SEE A CLEAR PICTURE FOR THIS ONE
im sure then peeps will comment !
rust is hit n miss! surface rust or pitting ???
nitrating of cams is only about 20 quid id suggest getting that done !
it will help run in cam !
always replace followers too and check bearing wear!
as cam replacement means engine out anyhow !
