If you've got a heavy duty sewing machine handy you could recover them yourself - in whatever fabric you want too!!!

Would be a case of stripping off the old fabric and unpicking the current stitching, and using them to make a pattern...in other words you'd copy them, but without the stupid 'RAGE' logo of course!!

The only real specialist tools you'll need would possibly be some 'hog ring' pliers if that is how they are attached...they could be another type of clip though which you might be able to reuse if they don't snap when taking them off....but i'm sure there is a supplier somewhere online.

You may recover some original seats in the future sometime which is is pretty much the same sort of process. The beauty with doing it yourself would be you could change the design - adding ribs or flutes or the diamond quilted pattern as seen above.....lots of scope for creating a unique interior!!!!

If you didn't want to do yourself, any upholsterer (domestic stuff or automotive) would be able to help you. With Automotive recovers it is usually more down to the skill of cutting the fabric/leather the right sizes/shapes and sewing it neatly (and strongly) than the actual uphostery side of the job. The skill is to get the correct tension on the fabric to avoid any baggy fabric or tack bites (where you can see the fabric pinching in where it is fixed)....a good re-upholstery job should be as-good if not better than the original.

Fabric ain't cheap though. And Leather is even more expensive!!! factor around £60 a hide(and thats a cheap one!) Alcantara is a brand of synthetic leather....it is man made and is not suede. It is expensive...but there are alternatives. Alcantara is specifically manufactured to be hard wearing, resistant to fade (from the sun!) and probably fire resistant. What i'm trying to express here is that you'll need to invest a fair chunk of cash in the fabric alone...and thats before you even start. And if your sewing is a bit wayward it could be a waste of money! might want to get cheap fabric to practice with?

In short.....it is more than possible to do it yourself...a sewing machine, good scissors and patience!!!!
