Right I live in Wales and my parents live in leicester... Just wondering if it would be a good idea to drive my car there ??? I use it for a run around at the minute doing 40miles a day :)

how many miles does your mini have in the clock?


A mini can go for 3000 miles withought any kind of servicing- you can go to see your parents 12 times.

250 miles?? wow!!...Best take a sleeping bag and some food!!

Sorry!! but thats nothing.... its a car at the end of the day...of course it will do 250miles without dying...Just do a fluids and brake check before you set off and all will be fine!!

I just did a 600 round mile trip to cornwall and back on mine, you'll be fine, just do normal checks beforehand, eg, oil, water etc..

I used to travel 200 miles every weekend in a 75 998cc. No issues whatsoever, that was in 1982 but I doubt if anything has changed!

I once went to the edge of no-where...Was to scared to go all the way to the middle..I here its not nice!!

In my experience, if your car can do one mile without a problem then it can do 250 miles without a problem.

It will be fine, just make sure its been serviced ie plugs points etc then rock on. By the way having points is not an issue as long as they are decent and gapped correctly.

I used to use my wife's Mayfair on a daily basis traveling backwards and forwards from Whittlsey to Stansted Airport, a round trip of 156 miles giving it stick all the way. Never a problem.

Got electronic ignition ..
. Might take it to a garage to get it serviced before hand lol :)
Do trust it but can not be bothered to sat on the side of motorway waiting for RAC lol :)

Thing is....if you are going to be worried all the way there and back that its about to break down, then your not going to enjoy the trip. If you have another option for transport then use that and save yopurself the worry...But honestly there is no reason why a car that does 40 miles every day cant do 250 miles in one hit...I mean its only just over a weeks normal mileage...and you dont worry about it breaking down every week do you??
