I've paid £1500 for my first year of insurance with Flux Direct, some sort of sub-division of Adrian Flux, it is limited to 3000 miles a year but 8000 for example was like £400 more, I just wouldn't use it. That's on a 97 Cooper, exhaust, air filter, suspension and wheels declared, no no-claims and I'm 18. Found it through gocompare
