If you've not got much to spend go for a 12" pioneer, my mate had one and it would easily out perform most subs for the same money. If moneys not a problem then i'd go for a JL 12w3 although you can still pick a 12w0 up for about £100 which is still a good sub.

but anything you do to your car that is not standard is classed as a modification......which means the insurence will be more!

How have i got away with it then lol

So is taking the standard plastic wheel arches a modification?
Is moving the stero from the left to the centre a mod?

This is what i dont get?

All mods, but dont do poo to you insurance. I know there silly mods but a mod is a mod is a mod mod

i always thought that anything not on the car when it rolls out of the factory isn't standard. a good example is importing cars from japan. they are changing the law so if a car is imported from japan (e.g 200sx 300zx skylines scoobys evo's and the like) must be to factory standards if there is a single mod it is refused entry to the country. when in this country the stuff taken off e.g alloys can be put back on. i would have thought insurers would look upon any car in the country with no mods declared in the same way if it wasn't like it from day one its a mod. then they won't pay out.

Alpine Type R subs (10", 12") provide good crisp bass (good quality), at a very decent price. Just don't expect them to set off car alarms with 20Hz frequencies!

about the boot build, mounting subs in the shelf is what i did (free-air ones) sounded good, but needed to get the bluetac out for behind the numberplace.lol
