Hes a good bloke, knows his minis, i may have got the wrong end of the stick about things a bit, he did also say to check the vacuum servo for the brakes as it gets its vacuum from the inlet manifold any leaks around that might affect things.
As for bein at drag wars I havent been to many shows as I don't want to make any long trips with my mini like it is but it hasnt let me down yet so i may well go.
I'm gonna have a look at my local parts store for the wiring connector first off, ill let you no if i find it difficult to obtain, thanks v much for the offer!
