Ive noticed that with alot of flip fronts people loose there inner wings. Is it possible to have a flip front with the inner wings intact? If so does anyone have any pictures of this?

Cheers

i dont think there would be anything to stop this but i think it may be to do with the fitment of the brace bars.

is there any reason why you would like to keep them???

Not just the engine i need as much room to put things as possible really.

All will be become clear in the future. Also keeping the engine clean is a bonus!

i think i see what you are getting at.
when looking at putting a flipfront on my mpi i realised that when the inner wings where removed there would be nowhere for the expansion tank, horn or ecu to sit and also with the radiator being front mounted it would be a problem.
my solution was a length of box section which went from above the suspension mount on each side and then across the front at the height of the radiator, then everything would be bolted to this. problem solved, no if only i could get the money to get around to it.

but just an idea if you thinking along those kinda lines of needing to mount stuff etc...

just leave a little bit of wing there right at the back by the bulkhead and use that, best of both worlds

My flipfront has been cut so that the inner wings are still in the front end (like you would), I'm going to keep as much as possible in there and just cut away what needs to be removed for the brace bars. This will provide space to mount stuff (although the wires will have to be routed over the hinges).

Sorry I've not got any pics though

I've chopped min out, and will mount some stuff in the arch (with a suitable shield made up), and some I will mount to the brace bars by welding on suitable bracketry. I'll also be making a couple of clear shields to protect the engine from crud if needs be.
