I had problems getting insurance just when i bought my car I was getting quotes of £1000 to £1200 back in february, i think it was with insure2drive, i agreed to buy the insurance when my parents came back from their holiday, and when we called them up (when my parents came back) they quoted me £2500 +. i did a bit more fishing around and looked on tiger compare, the results returned with £1666 with Acorn insurance and thats what i had to settle for... the reason it went up so much within the 2 weeks my parents were away was because before hand there was a scheme that insurance is lower for classic cars (over 20 yrs old) but after that we were chatting with 1 company and they said that the law had changed the loop hole in this criteria and 17-21 year olds could not get this "classic insurance" so guys getting insurance on classics is now alot harder for young drivers.. hope this helps

Im 18, 1 years ncb. Got quoted £850 fully comp on an 89' 1275 with Ecar Insurance! You can buy the car so you get the cheaper insurance if you want as Im doing a rebuild instead ;)

i'm with flux (not really a fan but because i'm only 20, no1 else would insure me with an agreed valuation, finally agreed at £645 with no ncb (will never get any on the mini because i drive a 1.4 peugeot 206 with 2yrs ncb, and apparently you're not allowed to build up more than 1)

I've built up 2? It's for my little brother I'm asking for as he's having silly quotes so I told him to try a classic car.

oh right i struggled with footman james graham sykes (basically all the ones in mini mag and mini world because they wouldn't insure me :/ and flux told me u couldn't have more than 1 set of no claims, then again i wouldn't trust them as far as i could throw them
