Posted this question before but still confused!

http://www.theminifo...hese-dashs-fit/

Searched high and low on google but nout!

How on earth does this dash fit to the car?!

here's now it sits in mine at the moment

Obviously the speedo would be there but it comes through the hole from the back so its not really holding the dash in place at all. Was thinking maybe some 'L' brackets on the wings and securing to the pillars both sides??

Someone with this dash must know! :D

Cheers

sorry pal can't help you here...but it looks like the side parts may need to sit flush with the front of the dash rails ?

and shouldn't there be some finishing material at the ends to fold under the door rubbers to finish the ends off ? and maybe you have to wrap the dash rails first to close the gap at the bottom under the clocks ?

good point mate, there were finishers on the dash before i re-furbed it so i'll need to find something leathery haha

as in a dash rail?? i dont plan on putting any dash rails in :/ do you think that some carpet might do the trick??

i think you need to create two flat surfaces running straight to the bulk head from the upper and lower rails...some black carpet should look tidy :D

On another note, what do you call that 'space' between the bottom dash rail and the bulkhead with a few strips of metal between the two??

recycle, the possibilities really are endless

i call it the dash board shelf as that is all it is on mine (standard thirty three console dash) with a bit of card and carpet on the metal strips to make a useful shelf, very sophisticated :D

Hope i am not missing the point, if i am, sorry, i have a stainles steel dash well skin on mdf, i had to trim with a small plane, but mine has bolts sticking out of the back, the dash sits on the lower dash rail and under the top dash so it fits from the front not behind, it has metal strips at the back that go behind the rails
and then butterfly nuts to tighten it back, as the photo above and the angle of the ends, this will put the angle right as from the photo it is to far back
hope this makes sense
