Quick question and hopefully someones knows or does it themselves!

Only asking as I need some holes cutting for a custom switch panel I want to make :)

Cheers all!

what type of metal is it ? you could use a drill and hack saw if it is thin-ish metal :proud:

Its sheet steel about 1.5mm thick but its such a small area to cut the switch holes with a hack saw :(

do you mean to put in the original switch panel hole ? are you going to be using standard switches ? if so you could drill many holes around the edge to make them fit and the surrounds will cover the uneven edges...it'll be cheaper than laser cutting

i do have access to a laser cutter at sixth form...might be able to make one for you :genius:

pretty sure it is, it'll cut up to 10mm think from what i can remember but the thinner the material the quicker and easier it cuts :proud: i think you'd be best to drill/file it your self though...much easier and you'll get it done in less than an hour no problem :proud:

Firstly ignore the sh!t welds - it was done quickly , you will only need tacks anyway

instead of trying to create holes - make a box with angle & plate

the vertical gap is 30mm approx - so 30mm plate the width you want

horizontal is the width of the switches you want butted together

I left the join lines in - I like them

may put a start switch in the middle , choke & heater outside

unfortunately no i'm not, i really like the late 80's retro-cool look of the original dash and i don't want my great big ugly speakers ruining it >_< i set out to keep my thirty as standard looking as possible and i'd rather loose a little bit of sound quality to keep the factory fresh look of the interior

sorry i'm a little ocd when it comes to the looks of things :teehee:
