Hi is it exceptable to put a repair panel over the top of another panel ime wanting to repair the inner flitch panel it's the one under the front wing with the airvent in it there's just a few holes was thinking repair the holes and put the repair panel over the top and weld in.

Making a rust sandwich isn't going to do you any favours as the rust will carry on spreading! The best thing to do is cut all the rotten panel out and weld the new one in, it'll be a much better repair!

Have to agree with Carlos, cut out the crap porperly and weld in a new bit / complete panel.

Thanks chaps appreciate it. What's the best thing to paint the back of the new panels with befor welding in I've got some other bits that you Won't get into once welded in.

Weld through primer is quite good stuff
