Rich, make sure to have everything strong (should be with that roll cage) since some of the stuff you took out is quite structural!
Also is that rust on the floor where the rear pockets would be? Touch it up with some shiny red paint to go with the rest of the car, then it'll look top notch!
Definitely a magazine feature car as a road-going racer!

Yeah I discoverred a hole in the rear drivers side corner about the size of a 10p peice , but its no big deal, I'll cut it out and weld a new bit in, the rest of it is dirt over its original brown colour...

Looking nice mate. Just realised why there are four aluminium plates on the sills of my car with bolts coming through, must have had a cage at some point. Someone did the same to my rear bins but I'm going back standard so am gonna have to weld the bins back into it, now that is gonna be a fun job!!
Keep up the good work mate....

Scooby should've failed MOT because it requires E-marked inertia reels. My mates Scooby impreza had his belts like that , and he got MOT ok , if in doubt re-fit the standard belts for MOT
Older Minis should be OK because I don't think the rules apply to old knackers. Don't know what year inertias were made leagal requirement though.
In all other cases just be friendly to your MOT man.
I,ve got clear rear clusters, harnesses, air horns and an emissions test to worry about.
But I've got a local Guy who loves minis so should be OK.

Surley fitting aftermarket harnesses, as long as they are fixed in the propper manor, cant fail an MoT because they have to be to a certain standard which should cover road use? So a direct replaicement from inertia belts would be ok.

i remember reading on another post a discussion about harnesses in road cars, apperently they are illegal if they have the racing aircraft style buckle, but if you have the seat belt style, push in buckle, these are meant to be ok.

We need the final say of an MOT man with the book
but as i understand it , if the harnesses are "E" marked and fitted to the cars original seatbelt mounting points ,you should be ok
but the book can be interpreted differant ways
come on MOT boys , i need to know this one as well , as my harnesses go in tomorow (or not as the case may be )

would they really fail you because of a small technicality like that even though they are in fact safer?

sorry but you dont need inertia reels to pass an MOT on any car.
like said above, they only need to have a push button release and not twist release.
my saxo had harnesses for trackdays and it passed the MOT.
looks good by the way rich.
