I bought a mini off of a friend for cheap and I am hoping to build it up and sell it when it is finished. At the moment it is a rolling shell, engine runs but not properly yet. Has had mods and upgrades on the engine. A few spares with it, I will put pictures of it up when I am at work tomorrow. It is better than it looks and there isn't a lot of rust around the car. I have mechanics and a welder that can help me but I will need advice on it as I don't know too much about them (and I am only 16 years old :) ) just a quick question, i have a zeemax fibreglass body kit that came with the car and I was going to put that on it and spray, rebuild, etc. yay or nay ? If no would any buy it on here ?

Any help/advise would be very apreciated.

Sound's like a good project, I wouldn't put the zee max kit on, Standard mini's are worth more if you are going to sell it.

Each to their own with regards to what they do with their own cars but yes a unmolested bodied car will hold it's price better that a kitted one.

Thanks for the replys, for starters I am banned from eBay so I can't sell it on there ! (don't ask ) :) I have also made a page about it deciding wether to put it on or not http://www.theminifo...68#entry2542668
But I still am not sure on which path to take. I hope at least someone agrees with me, or does everyone on here like the originals ?

I would have thought someone would want it on here, Some people like them some people hate them, personaly I dislike them.

Why are you selling it once you have rebuilt it, if you don't mind me asking?

It was just a project for me to do and sellin to get some money. I might keep it for myself but it depends. For starters I have 1 and a half. Years until I car drive anyway and I am doing an apprenticeship away from home for 3 years so I could only drive on weekends which would be fine I suppose. if I keep it for myself I will put the body kit on it because I can do it how I would Iike it. Could you point me in the right direction for the people who want to buy it ?

Fair enough, I've had my mini since I was 14 (now 16) and rebuilding it for when I can drive.
You would need 150 posts to post in the for sale section or you can pay £5 for TMF+ then you can put it in the for sale section and get discount's at minispares and other places

I'm 16 in a month and a bit. I would build it for me if I had a place where it wouldnt be touched then I probably would keep it for myself, I might have a place at home for it actually :)

I need a bit of help finding some body part for my car, where is the best place to get them. I forgot to take pictures today but I definatly will tomorrow because I can't really explain what I need. On the drivers side door to the right of it about half way down to the bottom is rusted, will an a panel cover this or do I need a flitch panel ? Thanks

the bit that is highlited in red is the part that is rusted, i think. i am at home now so i cant look at it but if i buy a new a panel will it cover it ? the full length of the flitch i think is only surface rust i think i saw 1 or 2 small holes, will double check tomorrow
