Don't want to be negative bud but will the hinges you have made be ok with the force onto rams? I know my BMW ones on my front end are half the size of yours and they take a bit of force to compress ?

More on the hinges coming up I've braced and added material in a few places to help pictures to follow tomorrow

Well here we go minus some minor adjustments it's done

The first thing I encountered was the struts were too far forward to allow the boot to close so chopped the rear mount out sliced the back off then welded it back on the parcel shelf. One of my captive nuts let go too so welded it in for good

Then on with the boot lid I will be using. Not a bad fit like I say some minor tweets needed

And up it goes

And here you can see how it all mounts up and how much I've braced the hinges

And all the way up

null_zps786efb28.jpg

And a video for you all. It all needs making a little smoother but all in the tweaks and smooth all the welds over

Pretty chuffed really

Comments welcome ,cheers Darren

Love the boot lid! Should be a much better fit once you have a seal and a catch on there,

I thought of doing internal hinges but opening upwards never crossed my mind! Well done!

Last installment in the boot saga and it's done lock fitted and working I made this little bracket to hold the lock to the boot floor in the desired position

null_zps96f98e47.jpg

null_zpsa0224ac5.jpg
Then welded the little bugger to the boot floor

And this is it fully working

Just starring to get the arches ready to fit lots of grinding to do

Cheers Darren

Fine work there, dude!

Best get the rear quarter on before the arch though, just being a traditionalist :P
