im looking on ebay for a timing light as want to have a go at timing myself, can u recommend any makes or doesnt it really matter?
also has anyone else adjusted the timing themselves?

Super easy to do yourself! I went to the local autoparts store and picked up the cheapy light, about $30, hook it up, take off the vac advance, run it up a bit by raising the idle, move the distributer to about 10btdc. go from there!

Make sure you get a proper strobe light one. You can get a cheaper neon light based one, but they're not as bright and tend to blur the timing marks.
