'Lo forum folks,

Having just finished dropping in ma shiney new engine I'm having a few problems. :'(

The engine is a 1275 from a metro with the HIF44 carb.

When I sit at idle and rev it's fine, but when I'm driving and sink the pedal to the metal it goes for a wee bitty and then struggles. Now am not the bright when it comes to mehanical type thingies, took about a week to swap my engine over, but could anyone offer any suggestions?

Cheers

could it be the mixture? prahaps its too lean as when you open the throttle there is a too low fuel to air ratio? until it catches up although i presume this would also happen at a standstill- maybee outting you on right track though eh? :D

again dashpot oil. have had the same problem and was that. is suprising how much difference keeping it topped up has.

to fill up your dashpot oit just unscrew the black lid on the top of your carb and pour in the oil, dont know bout anyone else but ive always used ordinary engine oil and that works fine.
