Following on from this, people who continually post questions in mini chat instead of the right area will receive a warning and a ban from posting for a while. It's too time consuming to continually be moving posts between forums when there's so much other stuff that needs doing.

This is to stop people from just using and abusing the for sale section, sell their item or items and then disappear. If you are serious about using the forum and contributing to it then purchase TMF+ membership. that way you can also take advantage of the discounts as well.

This is my first post... I have read through the posting guidelines and am trying to post a question regarding installing new door latches in my 59' Mini but the section for such a post says I cannot post a new topic in that section.  Not sure what to do...

Any help would be greatly appreciated....

You need to post your question in Problems Questions and Technical. You should be able to start a new thread in there.

Hello all.

I have a 1992 Cooper 13i some hate these models but i think if you get a good one there is no tunning involed. Its taken me approx Two years to get this to the standard it's at right now but Ive finished it and looking pretty cool.

Ive done all thebody  prep work my self and all the mecahnical work left the re spray to a pro sprayer but i;m very pleased with the outcome.

Its great fun to drive but i get cheesed off when it comes round to M.O.T Time ..you definately need to find a garage who appreciates the old Classics or you will get pothetic refusal excuses.

The previous year this same car failed on having the original ball joints from Mini Spares failed ..they made me fit Nylon lock nuts and Passed this ..This was probaly illegal as they failed to reconise a TAPER locking system .(fitted the originals back) You can read my Thread Got a lot of attention and good advise here appreciated.

This year another garage I thought i would try  failed me on" Failing To Display VIN TAG" which they would not and flat out refused to restest or pass my Car.as they would not acknowledge the Vin tag which is rivitted to the o/s inner wing. They said i would have to apply to the "Ministry" There words  to get this approved.Never heard such rubbiish in over 30 years of motoring.

So I had made some enquires in my area Bromley Kent I found a decent garage which actually do appreciate the old classics and had NO Problems My MINI passed with NO Advisories this year ...so I can just relax for another year now.

I will try  to get some photos up soon they need to be re -sized to get onto this forum.

Cheers all

Joe.
