Hey, My names Becky, im 18 years young :P

i have always wanted a mini! Most of my family have had one at some point, i currently drive a little vauxall corsa called Silv,

I have been reading this forum for a while, its made me realise I REALLLYYY want a mini!

Im in the process of saving up for a decent runner then planning to do the work with my uncle (ex Formula 2 mechanic so think i have some decent help!)

I was wondering what is the ideal amount i need to save for a decent runner? (i dont mind waiting i dont want to trow myself in the deep end!)

Welcome to TMF! :gimme:

I'd say it's best to fork out for for a decent one than spend less on a worse one if that makes sense? (I never make sense usually :P)

In the long run you'll end up spending loads more if you buy a bad example

As for price, I'd say for £3000 you should be looking at a relatively low rust example with an MOT....

Good Luck! :D

It's a loose relationship between price & condition with Minis. Good ones can fetch a premium, owners of less good ones will try to get the same price. Look at the total cost, older ones can be cheaper to insure and can be cheaper & easier to fix.

You don't need a Mini to go to a Mini show & it's a good way to find out about them.

Hey,
Welcome to tmf and the south east lol.
I only paid £1300 for mine, probably had about £400-500 spent on it.
Its not perfect but it will drive all day.
I would recommend doing research and buying one with your uncle so he can have a look at it.
Don't do what I did....hmm I want it! Hands over cash....I got lucky, most don't lol
