Hi I've managed to get hold of. A plus 40 block 998 but I currently use a plus can I use my a plus parts on a series short engine ??

You can't use the distributor, but everything else is more-or-less the same. The alternator bracket is also different as it's shorter.
The transfer gears are different, but just use your original primary and transfer gear and it'll be fine.

I thought u could use the transfer gears if u use the a plus side cover ? And could I not use the dizzy if u use my a plus dizzy drive ?

Yes, so long as you also change the geabox input gear and the transfer gear case.
The distributor drive is totally different from A to A+.
