Maybe the mods should consider a Bini section for general chit chat/pictures etc...alot on here like them or own them alongside their older cousins, then theres a specific area for the 'moaners' to ignore and the 'fans' to chat without this kind of crap

Sorted!

I should be a moderator :D

It's good to discuss how the forum is used, it belongs to us all.

I'd say it's about right as it is, not only are there better places to ask techie Bini questions, catering for 2 cars with the same name would be confusing, particularly when you search our pages. Having a specific Bini section is likely to give the impression that we cater for the new Mini as much as the old one, and lead to more Bini posts across TMF. There's nothing up with TMF'ers starting topics on Binis any more than topics on anything else, I can even see the validity of using "Mini Chat" since they are supposedly styled on our fave little car. No one is compelled to read them if they don't want to, though it could help if there was an indication in the title.

IMO we should have a BMW mini section, and slowly over time, people and technical knowledge will grow.

Depends if this is the route that the TMF admin want to take. This will obviously dictate whether this happens or not.

All the MINI bashing is pathetic.

Perhaps a name change? How about the real mini forum, or provisional mini forum, or peoples democratic republic of mini forum?

I do agree with the op to an extent though, but see the point of the mods regards tolerance and not wanting to encourage more posts.

There has been some discussion about this before:

http://www.theminifo...0-bini-section/

http://www.theminifo..._+bini +section

When I joined TMF, although the rules said that TMF was MINI tolerant, in my opinion it was not. However, I feel that over the years it has become more tolerant and reasoned, and certainly to me, it does feel like there is less MINI bashing.

Theres certainly no plans to have a seperate Bini area, we simply don't need it.

A lot of our members also have Binis, as well a classic mini and we don't have any objection the odd few threads here and there. What I hate is pointless Bini bashing, its rude to those members and is usually totally unfounded.

Like it or not the Bini is here to stay and if you're gonna go to a mini show then you'll see them as well. If you can go to a show and manage to not get your knickers in twist about seeing them then the same applies here.

If you're the kind of person who goes to a show and insults Bini owners and spit on their cars then TMF is definitely NOT the place for you.

I'm not a Bini fan and I very much doubt that I'd ever own one but I respect that we do have members who like and own them and I'd like to think that they could be mentioned without people reaching for the pitchforks and burning torches!!
