sorry for the total thread hi-jack, but have you seen the apple jack green mk1 is back on ebay, due to a timewaster, im curious to see if it makes it to 1800 again!

I've seen it, it's lush! No plans for buying another car though..

Should change the topic title to "metro chat" lol the apple jack green one is really nice, colour suits it well, its a pretty rare model aparently!

As for the k-series metros, they go like stink when u drop a vvc under the bonnet, went out in a mates metro that had a vvc from an mg-zr touring car in it, easily pull the tro to 160mph+! absolute monster it is, got it up to 125mph (on private land) n still plenty to go, but the metro was pretty hairy at them speeds haha!

its a hls i think the same as mine, there is 11 left i think. i think the real value in the car is that unusual colour. other than in one of the original brochure things i have never seen one that colour. it is lush though!

a few years ago i knew i guy who had an 1800 non vvc engine in his metro, it went pretty well its gotta be said, sadly he did nothing to sort the suspension and brakes so it drove pretty terribibly really!

we need a metro section on here......

Wasn't it a Mini colour? I thought Mr Bean's Mini was apple jack green. Maybe as the 80s started the colour wasn't chosen so much which is why it is rare, then it was dropped.

that is amazing! i need a copy of that!

going back to the colour thing, i think its a colour that would have sold better in the late 70s,

by the time we hit the 80s and metro territory it was all about brown or light metalic colours like that light green (similar to the colour of the triangular ones in quality street) or the equivelent light blue.

That is gorgeous mate, very nice indeed and your mods look well.

A grey metro has tonnes of potential :-) I'd lose the wheels, and fit some superlites with turbo arches, and a nice MG front end. There is a few lovely Mk2s about
