Hi,
I am looking to get more power out of my mini with a budget of £750.
My mini is fitted with a M.G metro 1275 which has a 276 cam hif44 carb,1.5 roller tip rockers, larger valves, raised compression, LCB manifold and exhaust.
Can anybody help?

with that spec (if it has been built properly) you should be seeing 80-85bhp, how much power do you need? i would think thats plenty of power for a fast road mini, you say larger valves........larger than what? MG metro ones? i guess you could put a pair of HS4's on it to release more power but the key to an A series's power is a well built and flowed cylinder head, there is no point in slapping bigger valves in a head that still has standard ports!

As this is in the forced induction section, I presume that you are really asking if £750 will be enough to get your car a turbo.

I can answer that in one word, no.

You'll need double that to do it really. I managed it on £1k, but I already had parts hanging around to use.
