that wood finish is amazing, how on earth do they do that?

I don't know for sure how those ones were done, but they use a transfer a bit like the old air fix type, the item to be covered is dipped and then baked to get a hard surface. I think they also do an air dry version as my mate had his air rifle done in camo, no idea why as he only shoots it in his garage. You can get any pattern you like from places like this: http://www.camodipkit.com/

i mean dont get me wrong, i wouldnt have that finish on the wheels on my e-type or anything, but that effect really could be put to great use on other stuff.

You see alot of wheels with wood effect or camo or even carbon fiber at VW shows. On the right car it can really look the tits. There is a company that will do it for you that go to the shows alot. Not cheap though. Plus I would be so scared to curb one!

im a big fan of unusual wheels on minis. at the last show i went to (stanford hall) i saw a guy selling some 6x10 JAP alloys which were really sexy.

I saw these also. Do yo know how much the chap wanted for them?

I too am always on the look out for different alloys, something a bit different to the norm. I have always like the 6x10 cosmics, but now they are being reproduced, I can see them becoming popular again which will lower the appeal to me. Much like the 1100 exacton wheels, which there are now loads of minis which have the force racing split conversion.
