My stepson just got a mini, he's only 16 so not old enough to drive yet! So in the mean time I get to relive my adolescent years and get behind the wheel of one of these awesome little cars again!

Ah nice to see a couple other Cornish folk! Thought there probably would be!! ;) Alex its a 1989. It's got a few bits already done like bucket seats and a roll cage. Looking at getting some of these wheels http://www.minispare...08&prod_id=3249 but that won't be til my stepson saves a bit more cash! Prob some new arches and a nice twin exhaust system! It's gonna be fun! Got a VW T4 which is also an ongoing project too!
Also where do people get these cool mini pics in their sigs?

have you looked into the cost of insurance on a modified car for a 17 year old ?
might be best to leave it standard and spend the money on rust removal and a reliable engine

This is a good point! He's saved a fair few quid and still has another year to go but indeed performance mods may be put on hiatus!! Engine is pretty sound and only a bit of rust around one wing, might just replace that one but its not that bad....yet!
