what he says it true but they also increase wear on the valve guides and the cam.

your best bet is to pull the engine and recondition it and fit a suitable cam.

pointless fitting a bigger head and rockers if the rest of the engine is on the way out.

OK gents, so nicklouse say's rollers DO increase guide wear and Cooperman says they DON'T. Only one of you can be right! ... ???

This is quite important for us amateurs as replacing valve guides isn't quick and easy ..

Keith Calver does a 1.4:1 rocker set... perfect medium?? http://www.calverst....tio-rocker-kit/ .... non-roller though.

Personally, I have the minsport 1.5:1 non-roller rockers with standard iron valve guides (hear the bronze ones wear quickly which might be compounded with extra load on them by the 1.5 rockers). I upgraded them at the same time as a decent big valve head, can see loads of benefit but of course can't tell how much is due to the head and how much is  the rocker. As above, the rockers probably only do something at the top end.

OK clarity. rocker moving through a greater arc increase side loads on the valve stem and guide. a roller tip will reduce the side loads when compared to a non roller tipped rocker.

but as to how that compares to a standard rocker I have not done any measurement, or found any infos as yet.
