The Type R Honda engine runs the wrong way as well.

The idea being that it shifts the power in a downwards force, thus increasing grip.

Honda, not just the type are engines

I have heard stories about people running the timing too close to TDC and starting bantams the wrong way and shooting backwards. Not sure if its true or not but makes for an amusing image.


I remember many years ago my mate bump starting his motorbike in reverse. He would start it up then invite other mates to have a go on it. It was only a small engine though so they did start going backwards but then usually the engine stalled.
