I have a 96 mayfair Spi

Putting on your general stage 3 kit with a new fast road cam (80bhp ish) and I may rebore the bottom end to 1380. See how the finances are.

This all means engine and al out. What else needs done to make sure the car wont bust. Would the diff need changed to stronger 1? What about the gearbox? Need strengthening? Anything else need done?

I would hate to do all this work for the car to break on me and then having to take all apart again to fix. Mite aswell do it all in 1 go!

Thanks

Philip

A 4 pin diff might be a good idea, there a lot stronger than the standard 2 pin and can cope better with the increased power. For the £150 cost whilst its all out i'd probably fit one! Gearbox wise as long as your current box is in good condition you should be fine! Check all your engine mounts are in good condition, would probably be worth fitting an extra engine steady as well. Standard clutch will be fine with that level of power.

Depends on your driveshaft joins, chances are they'll be pot joints unless someones changed them in the past!

Better to bore to 1330 as the block will then not need to be offset bored, it will make virtually no difference to performance and the block can be re-used when the new bores have worn.
