I regret selling my HL. It was 1982 X. Cinnabar red completely standard it was. Really wish I still had it :(

HL (and then HLE's) were only made for a couple of years max (replaced in 82 or 3 with the mayfair) so are a rare model. I've only ever seen them on a W or a X plate

We've just bought a 1982 Mini HLE for my brother and thats a Y reg.

14,000 miles from new :proud:

there don't seem to be alot of hl's around these days

Sounds good

If my understanding is right, the HL's came in w and X plates, then the HLE came on in X and Y plates (with the 2.9 diff fitted) and Mayfairs started on A plates (can't remember ever seeing a Y plate mayfair but a mate did have an A reg one)

In my 40's now, there were a lot of rusty used P reg to C reg Mini's around when I was learning to drive in the eighties.

It's a nice car.

We've got both My brothers is a HLE 1982 Y reg and mine is a Mayfair 1983 A reg.
