I'm about to move abroad for two years and unfortunatley I can't take my Mini with me :'( . I want to put it into storage in a friends barn and would welcome some advice on the best way to stop it rotting and most importantly to stop the engine seizing.

So far I plan to:

1. Remove the battery.
2. Keep the handbrake off.
3. Grease up everything in sight!
4. Re waxoil the underside.
5. Put it on axle stands.
6. Put a loose waterproof cover over it.
7. Cross my fingers and hope the barn roof doesn't collapse!

However, there will be no-one around to turn the engine over on a regular basis. Do they tend to seize and has anyone got any ideas how to stop this? Any other "Top Tips" will be gratefully received.

Cheers.

drain all the water out,

the engine should be ok, i doubt it will cease if the plugs and things are in, it willonly cease if water can get into the cylender head
