I have a mini city 1000, its in a very bad way and needs lots of work.

Here is a photo before anything has been started.

First Photo doesn't look that bad. But its when I looked closer and took things apart I realised how bad it actually was.

No I am not doing it all on my own lol. I have a guy from this forum working with me on it. I am not an expert, but with two lots of hands and brains, it will get there.

The crustyness I can deal with it's the previous owners bodge jobs that are frustrating the hell out of me.
Like the patches over patches, with rust and filler.
Or those fibreglassed sportspack arched and the sliced arch mods.

Also because the 12x4.5 minilights didn't fill the arches, someone then chose to fit 1, 1/4" spacers (witch are for sale) but left the extender studs only hand tight.

It's also things like the missing thermostat and the housing glued on with sealant and a single bolt. Or the engine steady brackets that have both been badly rewelded.

The one that realy gets me is the new clutch master cylinder. Ok, so the studs have snapped, but instead of drilling them out and using nuts/bolts. What the have chosen to do is dill new ones, meaning the master cylinder is offset to the pedal. And there was no sign of the pin in the pedal, witch might explain why the clutch didn't return.

Also there's things like the cracked front trumpet that's no longer sitting in the cone, etc, etc. Don't even get me started on the wiring, I'll deal with that laters when it comes to it.

At the end of the day everything is fixable, it just takes longer to undo the bodged bits than it does to do the repair properly.

Did you buy this off eBay back in January? I'm sure it's the one I went to look at. If it's the same one then it looked alright in the small photos on eBay but in person it really was a shed. Left it well alone! Good luck.
