With the retaining plate and sprocket fitted and torqued, end float should be 0.003 to 0.007".
AC
Thanks for that. Any idea of the torque settings for oil pump and the retaining plate nuts. Cheers

I would not expect that info to be asked on a forum as this info is available in just about every manual.
AC
Sorry. I would prefer to receive no answer than being asked if I had a Haynes manual. I would have thought most tech questions asked on the forum could be found else where, but isn't that the point of a forum? A fast, central, resource? Thanks anyway.

I disagree, forums are for those questions that cannot be found easily, or we would all be here answering questions relating to torque settings or plug gap setting to everyone.
AC
Oh well, at least it has encouraged me to dig out my old (held together by duck tape) bought in 1989 haynes manual. Here's a non hanyes available question for you. What if my end float is 0.36mm and the max should be 0.17mm with a new retaining plate?

A competent machine shop will be able to do this for you.

One might wonder where that 0.015" has come from. Is the cam sprocket hard against the cam with lock washer and nut fitted? I've never seen that, even when the triangular cam plate has been a bit worn. Very odd.
Ive just got the timing plate and triangle plate on and torqued. No cam sprocket on, what difference does having the sprocket on? Surely it just moves with the cam
