Mate picked up a bargain on the bay as i got the grille for a total of £2.50p :highfive: ......ows that for a mega bargain... trouble is that here seems to be a slat missing? The bottom slat seems to be missing.... as in all the photos that ive seen of these grills there seems to be one that goes the whole length of the grille ie the WHITE one just above the bumper in the pic above....looked and looked on the bay and on vw sites cant find it or a reference to it or a part number.............
secondly how do i wire the fogs in? are they meant to come on as a pair OR separate................

the spots are wired as a pair as normal spot lamps.

okay finaaly got around to doing my grille.......cut in half ,to de-badge the middle but am really struggling to get everything lined up......the shape of the headlight surrounds are evr so slightly different than the original clubbie ones and so am having a mare fitting these so that they line up. Also the vw headlight surrounds are larger than the original ones and so look as if they'll need so sort of added inset? Can some one who has done this mod give me a close up of the surrounds so as i can have a better idea of how to fit them as if i the bottom rail flush then it makes the top rail protrude to much and struggling to get a fitting, and if i do visa versa the bottom rail protrudes ............a close up would be REALLY helpful cheers..

I've nearly finidhed my second one. I have cut the lugs off the back of the grille where the headlamps are and put some 16mm spacers between the grille and slam panel (4 in total). To make the bottom of the grille flush with the front panel i guled a bracket internally on to the grille so it could be screwed to the front panel.
If you pm me your email address i will send some photos. You would be very welcome to come over and have a chat and a good look at what i've done. I will email you my phone no. if you want to talk about it.
Also the glue that i've been using to stick everything back together is Q bond.
cheers
mark

Wow seem to be spending me life ere getting these bloody lamps sorted out.......just read and re-read the thread about wiring in ....spot lamps and fog lights :mmkay:

know there is some legislation between the two ie.....spots must be wired in and be dependant on main beam only
Fog lamps CAN be independant of the above ......phew so my problem is what dictates what IS a SPOT and what is a FOG lamp,( other than its beam pattern?, ) how can U tell which is which? and fnally if I am using the grille from the VW MK2 on me clubman, what are they? Spots, FOGS, Or one of each? sorry to be a pain but can't afford to go foul o the law and MOT regs etc with me MOT due soon.

Yeah I did mate thank you I am sorting it out slowly but as I use the car eevery day it aint easy trying to find the time, will get round to it now I have something to work from, as for the wiring mate i just to have seemed to have gotten bloody sidetracked by all the legislaation going around, am more focused now and will wier them in via a relay to be dependant of the main beam thanks again bud. :D very much appreciated.......have to change my lights from MK4s to MK2s and so will do the wiring thing all at the same time
